Here's a look at some popular games today, that YOUR kids could be playing....
CALL OF DUTY
Featuring a first-person military shooter, this game includes constant killing, drug use, and sexual themes. With realistic weapons and blood pouring across the screen, this game not only embraces violence, it encourages it. On one "mission" alone, a player can be exposed to graphic riot kills, people burning to death, civilians killed in crossfire, torture and a shipping container filled with rotting corpses.
Note: Adam Lanza, the Newtown shooter, was known to be an avid Call of Duty player.

SAINTS ROW
Centered on gang violence, this game actually encourages players to go out and harm innocent "civilians" in an attempt to put their gang on top. The wide array of weapons (including chainsaws, shotguns, grenades, rockets, and swords) are used for graphic kills of enemies, innocents, and even the police. There is also an excessive amount of drug use, profanity, sexual imagery, and, of course, lots and lots of violence.

GEARS OF WAR
This game offers a new extreme: “rewards” for each creative kill. Not only does this game offer encouragement for violence, there are also incredibly gory displays of crushing skulls, dismemberment, or decapitation after each kill. The weapon choices for Gears of War range from machine guns to chainsaws; there is even an opportunity for players to stomp on their alien enemies to make them explode. And, as with any M rated game, there’s loads of profanity.

DARKNESS
The protagonist of this game is a mafia boss with a supernatural ability to kill. Beyond the traditional weaponry of rifles, pistols, and swords, players of this game can use the supernatural skill called “demon arms” to rip out hearts, remove spines, and decapitate their victims. This game has the customary amount of blood and gore, plus the addition of each victim screaming in pain. Another new feature: not only does the player witness sexual themes, but actual sexual acts being performed (though there is no nudity).

GRAND THEFT AUTO
In this game, players complete missions to advance their own personal stories. Missions include drug sales, violent crimes, and, of course, grand theft auto. This game encourages players to use violence as a method of escape after commiting a crime, which not only endorses the crime itself, but also violence in everyday life. With each new edition, the game is becoming increasingly graphic, and increasingly profane. It features sexual themes, profanity, drug use, and violence.
